PSC 8030

Overview

The Product Service Code (PSC) system classifies what the U.S. government buys so contract actions in FPDS and notices in SAM.gov can be tracked, analyzed, and reported consistently. Codes are governed and updated in the PSC Manual maintained on Acquisition.gov. ¹

Within Group 80 (Brushes, Paints, Sealers, and Adhesives), PSC 8030 covers “Preservative and Sealing Compounds,” including fire-, water-, and weather-resistant compounds; belt dressing; antiseize compounds; calking/caulking and glazing compounds; putties; and wood/metal fillers. Food preservative compounds are explicitly excluded. This code is used when the predominant item purchased fits these descriptions. ¹
