The Product and Service Code (PSC) system is a governmentwide taxonomy that classifies what the U.S. federal government buys. Agencies record PSCs in systems such as FPDS and SAM.gov to enable consistent reporting, analysis, and category management. Classification notes and boundaries

• Group 19 includes only complete ships, small craft, floating docks, floating drydocks, and dredges; end items, assemblies, parts, and accessories for these are generally coded in Group 20 unless another class applies. ²
• Code 1945 excludes floating drydocks (see 1950) and bridge floats/pontoons; pontoon hardware (“jewelry”) is not in 1945. ²
